Welcome to the 20th edition of the screaming pages<\/em> Thursday Thirteen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Friday is my last day at work. I’m soon to be unemployed. Since I left school, I’ve been continuously employed for 9 years. This week, my T13 outlines my plans my first few days of unemployed life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirteen things I plan to do next week.<\/center><\/p>\n
    \n
  1. Sleep:<\/strong> I’ve completed 200 hours of unpaid OT since Jan 1, 2007. I think I’ve earned a break!<\/li>\n
  2. Clean:<\/strong> We’ve made a dent in my office\/library but there’s still so much more to do.<\/li>\n
  3. Read:<\/strong> I’ve got a shelf of books beside the bed that need to be read. Perhaps I’ll reach the 52 book mark by the end of April…<\/li>\n
  4. Cook:<\/strong> I don’t enjoy cooking for one and Drew does the bulk of the cooking normally. However, since I’ll be home while he’s working, I’m pretty sure I can make my way back into the kitchen and serve up some meals.<\/li>\n
  5. Volunteer:<\/strong> I’ve always wanted to be more active in our community. Having free time will provide the perfect opportunity to help others and get to know others in my neighbourhood.<\/li>\n
  6. Garden:<\/strong> If the weather holds *fingers crossed* I think I’ll turn some earth and plant some flowers in the planters on my stairs.<\/li>\n
  7. Mail Books:<\/strong> I actually plan to do this tomorrow, but if I don’t manage it, I’ll be shipping a number of the books I’ve registered on bookcrossing<\/a> off those who’ve expresssed interest in them.<\/li>\n
  8. Send MOT<\/a> on his way:<\/strong> I should have done this over the weekend, but haven’t had the time. If I don’t manage to do this tomorrow afternoon, then I’ll definitely be making a trip to the post office to send MOT on to his next travel destination. He was a wonderful traveling companion and I’m going to miss him.<\/li>\n
  9. Walk the dogs:<\/strong> I’m sure they’ll love walking in the daylight instead of darkness. The only challenge will be keeping both of them from tripping me! It’s hard enough to keep my feet under me without the assistance *cough* of the dogs.<\/li>\n
  10. Play with the cats:<\/strong> I’ve been away so much that the cats have really been ignored. Drew’s not much of a cat person and Than’s my baby, so it’ll be nice to spoil her rotten for a while.<\/li>\n
  11. Scrapbook:<\/strong> It’s addictive. I started one almost a year ago and just haven’t had the time to finish it. Since I’m going to have lots of time on my hands, I just might finish it this decade.<\/li>\n
  12. Watch a Viggo Mortensen marathon:<\/strong> *Yummy* Perhaps I’ll spend some time re-reading his books next week as well.<\/li>\n
  13. Take pictures:<\/strong> There’s still a lot I need to learn about composition and taking a good picture. I think I’ll wander around the neighbourhood and get some practice in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
