{"id":673,"date":"2008-05-11T21:02:06","date_gmt":"2008-05-12T04:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valianthosting.ca\/clients\/daemon\/?p=673"},"modified":"2008-05-11T21:02:06","modified_gmt":"2008-05-12T04:02:06","slug":"05112006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/screamingpages.net\/?p=673","title":{"rendered":"05.11.2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My heart goes out to my childhood best friend this evening.\u00a0 She learned of her father&#8217;s terminal illness a few months before my father passed away.\u00a0 This past Thursday her father also succumbed to cancer.\u00a0  His funeral is scheduled for tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>I have such wonderful memories of our bouncing between houses and spending time with her family.\u00a0 Her dad had a great smile and was filled with a generous spirit and nature.\u00a0 His faith helped him keep a strong perspective on both his family life and his battle with cancer.\u00a0 As K tells me, he remained filled with love and faith until the end.<\/p>\n<p>I wish I could travel home to see her during this time.\u00a0 Sending messages of sympathy and prayers just doesn&#8217;t seem sufficient.\u00a0 While we can never know the breadth and depth of each individual&#8217;s loss, I do feel that I can understand some of the pain she is feeling at the moment.\u00a0 Our shared loss gives us one more connection over the years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My heart goes out to my childhood best friend this evening.\u00a0 She learned of her father&#8217;s terminal illness a few months before my father passed away.\u00a0 This past Thursday her father also succumbed to cancer.\u00a0 His funeral is scheduled for tomorrow.
