{"id":866,"date":"2008-09-30T15:07:10","date_gmt":"2008-09-30T22:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valianthosting.ca\/clients\/daemon\/?p=866"},"modified":"2008-09-30T15:11:38","modified_gmt":"2008-09-30T22:11:38","slug":"ketchup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/screamingpages.net\/?p=866","title":{"rendered":"ketchup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Joy &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It seems like we&#8217;ve been getting calls from every telemarketer on the planet for the past few months and I, for one, am thrilled that Canada finally has it&#8217;s own DNC list.\u00a0 I&#8217;m tired of calls from people trying to sell me something at 9 and 10 o&#8217;clock at night.\u00a0 I&#8217;m tired of the calls that start at 8am and don&#8217;t end until late in the evening.\u00a0 No, I don&#8217;t want a new credit card.\u00a0 No, I don&#8217;t want my non-existent carpets cleaned. No. No. No.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their earlier success <a href=\"I'm happily registered with the Do Not Call service.  Now to wait the 31 days for it to kick in.\" target=\"_self\">nearly overwhelming<\/a> the registration site, I&#8217;m happy to report that our numbers are now registered with the <em>Do Not Call<\/em> list.\u00a0 Sure we still have to wait the 31 days for it to kick in and deal with the exempted businesses but I can live with that.\u00a0 Light at the end of the tunnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pain &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brunswick News is reprinting Dad&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/valianthosting.ca\/clients\/daemon\/?p=861\" target=\"_self\">memoriam<\/a> tomorrow. Better late than never I guess&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunshine &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m on track for finishing my Psych paper by Friday and have managed to connect with a tonne of old friends this week.\u00a0 Who are these old friends you ask?\u00a0 Long ago when the earth was green I used to haven.\u00a0 Think IRC on a geekier scale.\u00a0 Many of us traveled throughout the continent (and across the pond) to meet face to face.\u00a0 We had weddings, conventions, late night parties, Denny&#8217;s runs, and trips to the Waffle House.\u00a0 As sometimes happens when you grow up and move through life I lost track of a large number of fellow haveners over the past decade.
