Traveling is nice. Being home after an extended period away from hubby and four footed children is nicer.

Welcome to the 17th edition of the screaming pages Thursday Thirteen.

    There’s no place like home…

Thirteen reasons I’m happy to be home.

    1. I can talk to my hubby during daylight hours; face-to-face and for free.
    2. Sleeping in my own bed. Ummmm, I knew there was a reason we paid lots for a great mattress.
    3. I get to walk the dogs around the neighbourhood again.
    4. 2003 Chevy S10, winter tires, and people who (normally) drive in their own lanes…
    5. Closets full of clothing. More than one pair of jeans. Sweatshirts and sweatpants.
    6. Alberta beef!
    7. Cuddling on the couch with Thanatos, Beelzebub, Fenris and Hypnos.
    8. And the hubby
    9. I don’t need to go to a bookstore to get new reading materials. I have a pile of 20+ books in my office cum library that I have yet to read.
    10. But if I did want to read new books, I can walk the 5 minutes down the road to the local used bookstore, order new ones online, or drive across town to the giant Chapter’s…
    11. Permanent high speed Internet connection.
    12. Friday night Karaoke with the girls.
    13. Fridges, freezers, microwaves, and stoves…I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want. I just have to cook it first 😉

the time has come to leave you

Once again I wave goodbye to Bangalore and fly through Singapore to land in Manila. In order to make use of my existing ticket and save money, I have to fly back to Edmonton via Manila. 56 hours in the air or in airport lounges, and just over 12 hours in Manila to grab a bite to eat with my friends before starting the last half of the journey back to the great white north.

    *sigh*

I won’t miss the crazy work hours, but I will really miss India and the Philippines. The sounds, the smells, the food – and most importantly – the people.

You know, these quizzes are always a lot of fun, but I can’t say I’m all that surprised by the results of this one. Were you?

What type of Fae are you?

I was visiting A Spot of T today and came across her obituary. Not to be outdone, I had to find out what my epitaph would say.

    Take this quiz at QuizGalaxy.com

Considering my site and blog name, it’s amazingly appropriate…

Wheee! I’m still on track to complete the 52 books – and many more. Go me!

    1. A Dirty Job – Christopher Moore
    2. The Last Juror – John Grisham
    3. Goal Analysis – Robert F Mager
    4. River’s End – Nora Roberts
    5. Rebellion – Nora Roberts
    6. Don’t be Afraid – Rebecca Drake – This was my book to review as part of the Debut a Debut contest. After reading everyone else’s reviews, I now know I have a lot more new authors to pick up and devour!
    7. Who Moved My Cheese – Spenser Johnson
    8. On The Run – Iris Johansen
    9. Every Which Way But Dead – Kim Harrison
    10. Five Point Someone – What Not to do at IIT – Chetan Bhagat
    11. One Night at the Call Center: A Novel – Chetan Bhagat
    12. Stripped (eBook) – Rhonda Stapleton – I won this as part of the Debut a Debut contest and it’s been an interesting read. I don’t have it listed on Shelfari Reading List because it’s not on their available books to select ;(
