Christie Blatchford Wins Governor-General’s Prize

I’ve written about Christie Blatchford’s book Fifteen Days before [here].  She has recently been awarded the Governor General’s literary award for non-fiction for her book about Afghanistan, “Fifteen Days: Stories of Bravery, Friendship, Life and Death From Inside the New Canadian Army.”  If you haven’t already done so pick it up and read it.  I’d lend you my copy but I have to pry it back from W first.  That may take a while.

When you’re done don’t forget to buy and read Three Cups of Tea!

  1. Both Paul and I have read it. It’s sitting near the front door waiting until we see you next so you won’t have to pry. It will come with a dvd of the ceilidh, which shows like a scarey movie. We haven’t seen you for ages!!!! Maybe this weekend, or does the hubby have another Friday night commitment?

  2. BTW, we both loved the book. Very thought provoking and insightful.

  3. Three cups of tea is coming with me to Italy. 🙂

Lee Windsor collaborated on a new book about Afghanistan that I must also read. So much to read! Hopefully it will be the holidays soon.

  4. *strikes book from list* Ok, no Three Cups of Tea for Mare in her Christmas package. Hmmm, I’ve been plugging this book so much I’m not sure if anyone I buy it for will need it by the time Christmas rolls around. Perhaps it’s time for a new strategy.
