Translation: LunaStone Designs is responsible for all the good stuff. I'm responsible for screwing up her work.

Each year since returning to Canada full-time in 2007, I have counted the poppies I see people wearing from the day the poppy campaign begins until 11am on November 11th. I'd tally up the count, donate 0.10$ per poppy, and send a cheque to a local veterans organization.
It used to be a sizeable donation.
In recent years, I've noticed my poppy count decreasing. I worry sometimes that people have begun to forget the past. I worry that we will soon relive their horrors in our future.
I don't base my donation on poppy counts anymore. And I no longer wait until Remembrance day arrives to make them.
I am changing too. Hopefully, for the better.

It seems appropriate that the fist post under the new look would be dedicated to the wonderful designer who made this happen.
I’m template challenged. I can make minor modifications to the generic templates included in WordPress and know how to install new WP templates, but designing one from scratch is well over my head. I like to blame it on my complete lack of style. It’s like art; I know what I like, I just can’t draw for beans! I’ve been reviewing a lot of work by template designers over the past few months and had my heart set on LunaStone Designs very quickly.
LunaStone Designs is well worth every penny. Luna has worked with predominantly with Blogger templates but is now branching out into WordPress as well. I’ll admit, I was one of the annoying ones who sent her email requesting status updates on when she’d start working in WordPress.
Luna offers premade templates and customized ones at a very reasonable price. For custom work (such as this site) she spends a lot of time with each individual client to get all of the elements of the design exactly as you want it. She’s a joy to work with and I highly recommend her to anyone who is considering a new look and feel for their blog.

Hold on to your hats folks, there will be some changes to the look and feel of the screaming pages very soon. Until everything is ironed out, some things may look or behave a little wonky.

I may be blogging a bit irregularly over the next few days as I’m travelling back to Edmonton to spend a few days with the hubby on the 17th. Can’t wait to head back to see the house, puppies and kitties. I’ve almost forgotten what the house looks like it’s been so long since I’ve been home. It’s a short visit and I’ll be heading back to NB on the 24th.
I love to fly but it takes forever to go from one side of the country to the other.

I’ve got access to a reliable internet connection now and should have a bit more free time available after the long weekend. I’ll be starting regular posting again within the next few days.
