For those following my blog these past two months haven’t provided much entertainment. So, I’m sorry to note that it’s not going to get much better for the next little bit.  Hopefully you’ll still find me in your RSS readers once my crazy final weeks of school/papers schedule is finished.

I know I’m beginning to sound like a broken record but I’ve been busy with school of late. While I’m stuck in the basement writing and calculating, Drew’s been tearing apart the backyard. I’ll try to post some of the before/current state pictures soon. We’ve not reached the “after” state yet.

This weekend we’re swooping into Vancouver for a few days and will be visiting with Drew’s aunt and cousins. Saturday will be spent at the Vancouver CSTS and those of you on the wet coast who are interested in what MOT’s been up to might catch a glimpse of him running around Vancouver before the weekend is out.

He’s been pretty subdued since he came home from Afghanistan however it’s only a few more weeks before MOT heads to SoCal. Which reminds me, I’ve got a picture or two of MOT’s final days in the Sandbox that still needs posting.

    MOT’s new friend

March 6th, 2009 she Posted in Adventures with MOT 2 Comments »

Apparently MOT makes friends where ever he goes.  After drinking the equivalent of a small lake in coffee, MOT finally managed to get his hands on one of the coveted Timmie’s KAF baseball caps. MOT, being a generous soul and understanding the finer details of marriage thanks to explanations from his traveling companion, will be sending the cap home for me to wear soon.  YIPPEE!

As for the rifle – MOT’s not authorized to go anywhere around the camp without carrying it with him. He’s getting pretty used to being armed to the teeth. Makes me wonder how he’s going to react when we bring him to Disneyland in the summer?

    Rrroll Up the Rim

It’s that time of year again in Canada.  Timmies annual Rrroll Up the Rim to Win contest. While everyone here is busy trying to win a vehicle or some other hot prize over in KAF the hot prize is a limited edition Timmies hat.

So of course MOT is drinking lots of coffee in the hopes of coming home with a new friend.

Unfortunately he hasn’t even won himself a free coffee or donut at this point.  We know he’ll keep trying.

It’s Friday and time for Blues and Beer!  Just in time for this momentous (and weekly) event, we’ve received a message home from MOT.  It’s been some time since we’ve heard from him but he’s apparently still in fine shape. Looks like he’s getting lots of exercise and, if his lack of dust and dirt is anything to go by, he’s apparently somewhere close to shower facilities.

He was out and about exploring and came upon this a construction sign.

It appears something may have gotten a little lost in translation. Good to see MOT getting involved in the reconstruction efforts.

    The Torch goes to Afghanistan

Damian Brooks, a Canadian blogger and part of the team at The Torch is heading to Afghanistan to become an embedded blogger with the Canadian Forces. Damian is the first blogger to be invited to blog from theatre by DND. He is responsible for covering his own expenses for the trip so if you can spare any amount, no matter how small, please visit his site and click on the PayPal donate button.

Who knows. Perhaps Damian will find the time to visit with MOT and act as MOT’s temporary escort.
