I was a bad girl. I had club access seats and forgot my new digital camera. We were relegated to taking pictures on the cell phone (like many others) and the quality of pictures is pretty poor. Hopefully we’ll get another chance at tickets in the same area in the near future and I’ll definitely remember to bring the camera then.
We do have seats in the upper deck in 2 weeks and will be bringing the camera to get arena and play shots. What I won’t be able to get pictures of next time is Roly exiting the dressing room and heading out to the ice!
It was a beautiful game. After a really slow start in the first, it picked up and rocked in the second. The first goal of the night (Raffi Torres) was ugly, but Edmonton is the king when it comes to scoring ugly goals. I’m pretty sure that’s how they made it into the Stanley Cup last year. Hemsky’s goal was beautiful and made up for Torres sneaker.

At the end of second period the OIL was up 2-0 heading into the final period. Marc-Andre Bergeron had wings on his skates. Pisani and Smyth scored beauts – especially Smyth’s unassisted goal at 13:56 in the third.
Rolly lost his shutout in the final minutes of the game (4:28 remaining) after an earlier goal was disallowed. The previous goal was batted in by a high stick and the decision to disallow was backed up by the instant replay.
End of the night had some great news. The OIL had just won their 1000th game at home and Petr Nedved is coming back to Edmonton. I’m sure I’ll be scrap booking my night sometime soon.
