Welcome to the 9th edition of the screaming pages Thursday Thirteen.
I couldn’t live without my iPod mini when I travel. We don’t have a stereo at home so the external iPod speakers get a lot of use lately. This week I’m finding I’m listening to the same songs over and over again. I guess you could say that sometimes I get songs stuck in my head because I’ve banged them in with a hammer…

Paint It Black….that’s one of my favorites. I hope Santa brings me an Ipod mini

I am currently obsessing on Azam Ali’s Elysium for the Brave, and trying to figure out if I should buy an MP3 player this January or not…it would be cool, but I just know that the cats will turn it into a toy.
I have several Sarah McLachlan CDs, but I can’t recall the song Black. Just another sign that it’s been too long since I listened to them, I guess!!

I saw her perform live in 93 and “Black” was my favorite song of the set. It’s on the “Solace” CD.

Thursday Thirteen: Amazing But True Facts…

Is Mad World the same as in the Donnie Darko soundtrack?
lLeaving on a Jet Plane is awesome.
I have always like Walking in Memphis….I am mildly-Elvis obsessed & also it is just a beautiful song.
Sometimes I like “Daniel”….a lot even…just not one of the songs that I can listening to repeatedly.
Paint it Black…very addictive to listen to. I find myself shouting the lyrics & my husband & I sometimes sing it together. π
The rest I am not familar with. π

I’ve been listening to the version from the Donnie Darko soundtrack and the (I think original) Tears for Fears version, but I much prefer Sacre’s cover.

For me it’s The Monkees. The Girl I Knew Somewhere and For Pete’s Sake.
Great list!

I liked this list and most of the music on it. I just got Samantha (my 13 yr old) a Video IPOD for her 13th birthday and it hasn’t left her hands any, during her waking hours. I had never even seen an IPOD before I bought her’s – and now I just need one for myself. They are very cool. I like the external speaker idea – I might need to invest in that for one of her Xmas giflts.
My TT is up.

i am the same. i get on song kicks and then listen to the same songs over and over and over!

seems like you have a “black” theme going one there…. π
December 14th, 2006 at 11:39 am
Get rid of Peter, Paul & Mary and Elton John quick cause those 2 songs will drive you right over the edge in very short order! Why don’t you try some Billy Idol “White Wedding” to counteract all that black! π Thanks for the great list and for stopping by my blog to look at my tree. Happy Thursday! Dk

Nice selection of music. π The Rolling Stones and Sarah McLaughlan are always great to listen to. And of course, Anne Murray is a Canadian classic.
Happy T13. π

I really like Unwell too. I’ve only heard of a couple of the older songs. Guess I’m living in a cave π
