there is no escape

My Thursday Thirteen list included a reference to needing to visit my dentist. I’m beginning to wonder if perhaps someone from their office doesn’t read my blog since this morning I received a phone call to remind me that I need to make an appointment for my bi-annual check-up and cleaning. Very nice of them to remind me of my upcoming need to visit my favourite torturer. Granted, the timing of the call was excellent and I now have an appointment scheduled for Jan 18th.

Note: My current dentist is actually a really nice guy and does his best to put me at ease. I had a horrific childhood dentist who scarred me for life and every one who’s come after has had to work hard to gain my trust.

  1. I had a dentist who did the same thing to me as a child. Doctor Rubel (sp?). The guy was rude, mean and apparently akin to calling 4 year-olds “little assholes”. Nice to see that I didn’t grow into a big as…oh wait.

Thanks for the comment!! And about the “feeling your pain” thing…think David & Goliath. You’re a big fan of Goliath. You’ve been planning for weeks about how great it’s going to be when he squishes that little pipsqueak…and then the little bastard chucks a rock at his head and drops him.

Not how I originally planned on describing this, as I still cannot find words, but it’s a start I guess.

  2. my last trip to the dentist left me “white knuckling” the chair! My tartar is pretty hard to remove and the hygenist wasn’t very nice about it.

    Welcome to the exercising thingy.

  3. I so hate dentists!

  4. Dentists are not my favorite people!
