Sick, tired and in pain

I think I have food poisoning.

After weeks in India with no stomach troubles, I’m suffering horrific abdominal pain – coming and going in waves – since late Saturday night. No fever to date, so I’m at least feeling somewhat relieved about that.

I ate some chicken tikka at a restaurant recommended by a friend and think this may have been the culprit. Since then, I haven’t been able to keep anything other than water down and the pain isn’t subsiding.

Now I remember why I typically stick to vegetarian fare while in India.

If this doesn’t let up, I’ll be visiting a co-worker’s doctor tomorrow to verify my suspicions.

  1. I don’t know if gatorade or some such equivalent is available but try to drink something that has electorlytes in it. It may help you feel better. if you can handle solid food rice is a good choice. Hope you are feeling better soon
the pictures of elephanta were interesting

  2. Oh, no! Feel better FAST! I’ve had a bug since Friday, so I know exactly how you feel — except I’ve at least got the comforts of home.

    Hang in there!!!

  3. Ugh…not fun. (I think the universe saw your post on Friday that said you hadn’t been sick yet this year, and decided to change that…)

I’m glad for you that you were able to do some good touristing / visiting / sightseeing over the weekend, before getting ill! The pictures were lovely.

  4. You can’t seem to go anywhare without getting sick.

    Hope you feel better soon

  5. Must be time to blow that popsicle stand and head for some of that ginger soup at the Penn. And all the running water you can handle, with a nice soft bed, with more security than most people need, and little gentlemen in white suits and pillbox hats to hold the door for you while so Wilson can drive you off in the limo to the nice air conditioned office.

And to know that Eula & Pau are waiting for you to party them under the table….(if that is possible). What a life.

  6. Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. Reminds me of a comment I read once by some travel writer who, on making only a short visit to India, said: “I went through India almost as fast as it went through me”. *wry smile* Hope you’ll feel better soon.
