long commutes are not for me

I went down to Calgary from Tuesday evening til Thursday to visit some friends and look at the possibility of working there (or for a company based in Calgary remote from my home office) and after completing the drive twice have decided that while some people commute long ways for a job – and I did it previously to go to school when I lived in Ontario – the idea of making that drive every day while I was also working just wasn’t for me. Back to the drawing board.

  1. We have done Calgary day trips before. Long drive, especially if you are alone.

Sorry we didn’t make Friday again. Had to take munchkin and his buddy to WEM pool. We were home by 11, but wiped out. Hopefully next week.

  2. That’s why I won’t work in the city, nearly two hours away. I know some people who make that commute. I personally think they’re either nuts, or amazingly patient.

Good luck with continuing job search…

  3. Don’t get down, babe. You’ve learned something important.

The Tour Manager commutes 20 minutes. Sounds nice until you consider that for years, his commute was ten — by bike!

  4. That is a long drive for sure. And that highway! Oiy. Good luck on the job search. I’m sure the perfect one is right around the corner.
