What all the best dressed are wearing this season.

It’s that time of year again. Autumn has officially arrived and with it comes the screaming pages new header graphic.
I’ve always loved the fall. Growing up in the maritimes, autumn was a riot of colour – leaves shone in red, gold, brown, orange. Skys were bright blue (when it wasn’t raining of course). Lazy days of fall seemed to last forever, as the summer gave it’s final gasp and headed off into the sunset.
Here in the north west, autumn runs by a top speed and it’s nearly impossible to find a good display of fall foilage. The days are significantly cooler and frost began appearing on the ground weeks ago. Darkness falls earlier with each passing day and soon sunlight will be a memory. It will be dark when we head to work at 7am and when we head home each evening. Bundled in winter gear and huddled around fires, we quickly become mole people with no memory of the sun and it’s warmth.
But still it’s hard to let go of the fondness I once had for the season. It passes into winter too quickly here.

LOVE the header!!!
Huddled around fires? Bundled in winter gear? Hard to imagine; it’s hot enough here that I had to turn the air back on.

show off 😉
I just turned the a/c off for the winter and we turned on the furnace this afternoon. The duvet was pulled out of storage and dry cleaned a few days back and will soon be making an appearance on the bed.

That sucks about fall rushing so quickly into winter. Fall is my absolute favorite season. But I laughed at your mole people huddled around the fire!

I like your new header. I love fall too, and was fortunate enough to spend one fall in Michigan and the difference is huge. This year however, the leaves are looking especially nice. I think we have had a few warmer days and not such severe frost as usual, and not as many crazy strong winds. Also, I think people are planting more red trees, and I try to keep my eyes at that midrange level, just to see the red and orange we miss here. Speaking of missing, I haven’t read you long, but I was missing your posts also.
