I’ve spent time culling through the library of congress and University of Virginia’s online ebook offerings. If you’re cheap, running out of storage space (that’s me) and want to re-read the classics without having to visit your local library (where’s my TAL card?) then I highly recommend visiting the following sites:
- Etext Centre: University of Virginia Library
- Online Books Page: University of Pennsylvanie Library
- MemoWare
All of these have great selections of books available in MS Reader format. If you’re not a fan of MS Reader, you can download a large number of classics at Planet PDF.

I never thought of doing that. I am running out of space too, but the problem with me is I haven’t been reading much so it will take me a good long time to get through the books I have. I have also just started using the computer more for things so I am still getting my feet wet.

Not to mention – with libraries regularly rotating their own collections and removing books that aren’t read often, online e-books might be your best option to find some of the classics.

Great links – I’ll check them out.
