4 weeks and counting

My last day at work was March 31st. They had 2.5 weeks notice of my impending resignation. I’ve now been unemployed for 2 weeks. For those of us keeping score, that means a month has passed since I gave notice.
During this time, my previous company hasn’t managed to notify the Investment firm holding my RRSP and Pension that I’m no longer with the company. Ergo, when I called to find out why I don’t have copies of the necessary documents to transfer the funds to a different investment account, they had no idea what I was talking about and said that according to their records, I still work for company X.
GRRRRR!
Now I get the joy of contacting the HR dept. and asking them to fax paperwork through the their investment firm so I can transfer $$ to my investment firm. I am not impressed.

Document everything…just in case you need to wrest it from their fingers later, you’ll have a paper trail.
Hopefully their investment fund didn’t take a dive during the past two weeks…and won’t until you’ve gotten your money safely away.

What a surprise. Have you rec’d your record of employment yet?

mcpypr – nope. has Paul received any of his docs yet?
LM – I’ve got it documented and so does the investment firm. They’re completely blown away that they haven’t received the paperwork they need yet. They’re even starting an investigation on their end *grin*

*chuckle* Always nice when a large institution steps in – at least nominally – on your side… 😀 “Do not annoy me or the 800-lb gorilla will be distraught. And that can’t end well.”

Wow. If you still work there, why aren’t they sending you a paycheck?
Hang in there, She. It’ll be worth it in the end.
